SIX NATIONS IS ON RED ALERT
April 19, 2006
I received a message yesterday from a family member saying the OPP are once again threatening action and have given the protesters notice that they will be moving in and arresting anyone who does not leave the site . However it has been 24 hours since then and the OPP still have not moved inTensions are rising at the site of the occupation as word spreads that Henco Industries is taking the OPP to court Wednesday for contempt for not acting on the injunction ordered March 9th by superior court justice David Marshall ordering the OPP to arrest the protesters . March 22, 2006 the injunction was set for enforcement how ever the OPP did not act on it at the time hoping that there would be a peaceful solution.
Now to avoid being charged with contempt of court themselves they have said they will take action and will enforce the court order against the land reclaimers.
Indian and northern affairs is saying they are talking to all party's in this issue however the Traditional Chief have said that Indian Affairs will not talk with them.
Chief Dave General who has tried to stay out of taking sides has agreed to go to the site and sit down around the fire and speak with everyione there to try to come to an understanding of how to move forward..
There is however on going speculation that the OPP will move in soon.
Officers parked in a police cruiser a short distance from the site would not comment on speculation.
